01
Operator
Raktera is currently operated as a software project by an individual in Lithuania.
The operator's final legal identity and any additional legally required business information will be inserted before commercial sales are enabled.
02
Scope of these terms
These Terms of Service apply to the Raktera website, official Raktera downloads, support interactions, and commercial services provided through or in connection with the website.
Use of the Raktera desktop software may also be governed by the Raktera End User License Agreement. Where a specific software-license provision applies, the EULA governs that aspect of software use.
03
Products and editions
Raktera is currently offered in two editions:
Provides the core local password-vault workflow and standard password-generation capabilities.
Adds Advanced Password Generator, Passphrase Generator, and Security Health capabilities.
Features may evolve between releases. The Release Notes and product pages describe the capabilities associated with the currently published version.
04
Software license and ownership
Raktera software is licensed, not sold as intellectual property. Purchasing a Pro license does not transfer copyright, source-code ownership, trademarks, or other intellectual-property rights in Raktera.
Your right to install and use the software is subject to the applicable Raktera license terms and the End User License Agreement.
05
Purchases and payment processing
When commercial checkout is enabled, Raktera intends to use Paddle as the Merchant of Record for paid digital-product transactions.
The checkout provider may process payment, billing, taxation, fraud prevention, refunds, and related transaction functions under its own applicable terms and policies.
Prices displayed by Raktera are intended to clearly identify the applicable product and license. Taxes or other legally required amounts may be handled by the Merchant of Record according to the purchaser's location and applicable rules.
06
Raktera Pro license files
Raktera Pro uses a cryptographically signed offline .rkl license file to enable Pro capabilities.
- the license is verified locally;
- recurring online activation is not required;
- the current license design is not hardware-bound;
- users are responsible for keeping their license file backed up in a secure location.
Modification, forgery, creation, or distribution of unauthorized license files is not permitted.
07
Updates, maintenance, and future versions
A Raktera Pro license remains valid for the version purchased. Future major releases may have separate upgrade terms or require a separate purchase.
Raktera may release maintenance, compatibility, security, or feature updates. Availability and scope may differ between versions and editions.
No statement on the website should be interpreted as a promise that every future major version will be provided without additional charge.
08
User responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- protecting your Master Password, optional keyfiles, and other credentials;
- maintaining appropriate backups of important vaults;
- keeping Pro license files backed up where applicable;
- maintaining reasonable security of the device on which Raktera is used;
- verifying that exports, copies, and backups are handled appropriately for their sensitivity;
- using Raktera in accordance with applicable law.
Raktera support does not maintain a recovery copy of your Master Password or optional keyfile.
09
Prohibited use
You must not use Raktera services to:
- violate applicable law or third-party rights;
- interfere with or intentionally damage the Raktera website, distribution infrastructure, or support systems;
- bypass, forge, tamper with, or unlawfully redistribute Pro licensing mechanisms;
- misrepresent unauthorized software or downloads as official Raktera releases.
10
Support
Support requests may be sent to support@raktera.com.
Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. Response times are not guaranteed unless a separate written service agreement states otherwise.
Never send your Master Password, keyfile, plaintext password exports, or other authentication secrets to support.
11
Refunds and cancellation rights
Refunds, withdrawal rights, and cancellation rights depend on applicable law, the nature of the digital product, and the final checkout process.
Nothing in these terms removes or restricts mandatory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The final rules will also be described in the Raktera Refund Policy before paid sales are enabled.
12
Availability and changes to services
Raktera may modify, maintain, replace, or discontinue website features or distribution infrastructure where reasonably necessary.
Continuous or uninterrupted availability of the website, downloads, email, third-party infrastructure, or payment services is not guaranteed.
These statements do not affect rights that cannot lawfully be limited under applicable consumer law.
13
Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Raktera is provided without guarantees that every possible defect, compatibility issue, data-loss scenario, or third-party failure can be prevented.
Users remain responsible for maintaining appropriate backups and protecting the credentials required to access encrypted vaults.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections.
14
Mandatory consumer rights
If you purchase Raktera as a consumer, you may have statutory rights under the laws applicable to you, including rights concerning digital content and consumer contracts.
These Terms of Service are not intended to waive, reduce, or replace rights that cannot legally be waived by contract.
15
Governing law
Subject to mandatory consumer protections and conflict-of-law rules, these terms are intended to be governed by the laws of Lithuania.
Consumers may retain protections granted by mandatory laws in their country of residence where those protections apply.
16
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when Raktera products, commercial arrangements, legal requirements, or service infrastructure change.
The revision date shown at the top of this page will be updated when a revised version is published.
