01
Licensor
Raktera is currently developed and operated as a software project by an individual in Lithuania.
The licensor's final legal identity and any additional legally required business information will be inserted before commercial sales are enabled.
02
Acceptance of this agreement
By installing, copying, or using Raktera, you agree to this End User License Agreement to the extent permitted by applicable law.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the software.
Separate website, purchase, privacy, and refund matters may also be governed by the Raktera Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy.
03
License grant
Subject to this agreement, Raktera grants you a limited, non-exclusive right to install and use the applicable Raktera edition for lawful personal or professional purposes.
This agreement grants a right to use the software. It does not transfer ownership of the Raktera source code, copyright, trademarks, branding, or other intellectual-property rights.
Any final entitlement rules concerning licensed users, organizations, or permitted sharing must be finalized before commercial Pro sales are enabled.
04
Raktera Classic and Raktera Pro
Raktera Classic provides the core local password-vault workflow and standard password-generation capabilities.
Raktera Pro adds Advanced Password Generator, Passphrase Generator, and Security Health capabilities.
The cryptographic protection of the vault is not dependent on whether the application is operating with Classic or Pro capabilities.
05
Raktera Pro license file
Raktera Pro uses a cryptographically signed offline .rkl license file to enable Pro capabilities.
- license verification is performed locally;
- recurring online activation is not required;
- the current technical design is not hardware-bound;
- an authentic license file may be moved between supported Raktera Pro installations used by the licensed user;
- users are responsible for keeping their original license file backed up securely.
The ability to copy or move an authentic license file between supported installations does not by itself grant permission to sell, sublicense, publish, share, or distribute the license to another person.
A Pro license for the purchased version does not expire merely because the software is offline or moved between supported installations.
06
License restrictions
Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you must not:
- remove, obscure, or misrepresent copyright, branding, or proprietary notices;
- sell, sublicense, publish, or distribute unauthorized copies of Raktera Pro or its license files;
- forge, alter, create, or distribute unauthorized
.rkllicense files; - intentionally bypass or defeat Pro license-verification mechanisms;
- represent modified or unofficial software as an official Raktera release.
Nothing in this section is intended to prohibit activities that applicable law expressly permits and does not allow to be contractually restricted.
07
Master Passwords and keyfiles
Raktera vault encryption depends on credentials controlled by the user, including the Master Password and, when enabled, the required keyfile.
You are responsible for:
- remembering and protecting your Master Password;
- retaining the correct keyfile when a vault requires one;
- preventing unauthorized access to those credentials where reasonably possible;
- maintaining appropriate backups.
Raktera support does not maintain a recovery copy of your Master Password or optional keyfile. Loss of required vault credentials may make the encrypted vault inaccessible.
08
Exports, copies, and backups
Raktera may allow data to be exported into formats that are not encrypted by the Raktera vault format.
You are responsible for protecting plaintext exports, copied credentials, backups, and other files created outside the encrypted vault.
Deleting or protecting the original Raktera vault does not automatically protect plaintext exports that you previously created.
09
Updates and future versions
A Raktera Pro license remains valid for the version purchased. Future major releases may have separate upgrade terms or require a separate purchase.
Raktera may release maintenance, security, compatibility, or feature updates. The availability and scope of updates may differ between versions and editions.
This agreement does not promise that every future major Raktera release will be provided without additional charge.
10
Third-party components
Raktera may include or rely on third-party software components, libraries, runtimes, or other dependencies.
Such components may be subject to their own licenses and notices. Where applicable, those third-party terms govern the relevant third-party component.
11
Ownership and intellectual property
Raktera and its original software, design, branding, documentation, and other protected materials remain the property of the applicable rights holder.
No ownership rights are transferred merely because Raktera Classic is provided free of charge or because a Raktera Pro license is purchased.
12
Privacy
Raktera is designed around local vault storage. Information about personal-data processing associated with the website, support, and future commercial services is described in the Raktera Privacy Policy.
Technical details about vault cryptography and offline Pro licensing are available on the Raktera Security page.
13
Support
Support requests may be sent to support@raktera.com.
Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis unless a separate written agreement specifies otherwise.
Never send your Master Password, keyfile, plaintext password exports, or other authentication secrets to support.
14
Software warranty
Software can contain defects and may interact differently with operating systems, hardware, security software, runtimes, and other components.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Raktera does not guarantee that the software will be completely error-free or suitable for every particular configuration or purpose.
Nothing in this agreement excludes warranties, remedies, or consumer protections that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.
15
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Raktera is not responsible for every possible loss caused by lost credentials, unprotected plaintext exports, inadequate backups, compromised devices, incompatible third-party software, or external service failures.
Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups and protecting the credentials needed to access encrypted vaults.
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
16
Termination
Your rights under this agreement may terminate if you materially breach license restrictions and the breach is not remedied where applicable law requires an opportunity to remedy it.
Termination does not transfer ownership of your vault data to Raktera.
Mandatory rights and provisions that by their nature survive termination remain unaffected to the extent required by law.
17
Mandatory consumer rights
If you obtain Raktera as a consumer, you may have statutory rights concerning digital content, conformity, remedies, and consumer contracts.
This agreement is not intended to waive, reduce, or replace rights that applicable law does not permit to be waived by contract.
18
Governing law
Subject to mandatory consumer protections and applicable conflict-of-law rules, this agreement is intended to be governed by the laws of Lithuania.
Consumers may retain mandatory protections provided by the laws applicable in their country of residence.
19
Changes to this agreement
This agreement may be revised when Raktera products, licensing arrangements, applicable law, or distribution practices change.
The revision date displayed at the top of this page will be updated when a revised version is published.
